Cable Installation Technician | Owatonna & Rochester, MN

Job Description

Lantech Communications, LLC is one of the fastest-growing telecommunication companies in the US, serving internet and cable providers with large-scale infrastructure and installation projects. We are currently seeking experienced Cable Installation Technician to Owatonna and Rochester, MN to join our field operations team.
Position type:
1099 Contract. Please, note: This position requires a background check and a drug test. This position requires work authorization and a valid DL.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in cable or telecom installation. Strong understanding of installation standards, signal testing, and customer setup. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, climb ladders, and work in attics, basements, and crawlspaces. Must have your own professional tool set and mobile phone as outlined in the company's required equipment checklist. Having your own white minivan or pickup truck with a ladder rack is a plus — if not, we can connect you with partner companies that offer vehicle and ladder leasing options. Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills. Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Commitment to following safety protocols and company standards. We proudly celebrate diversity and work with multicultural crews, but English proficiency (B2 or higher) is required for effective communication and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, activate, and troubleshoot residential fiber internet services Perform FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) installations and customer setups Install and configure ONTs, routers, modems, and networking equipment Perform fiber testing, signal verification, and quality checks Run fiber/coax cable inside and outside residential properties Complete installations according to company and customer standards Troubleshoot service issues and ensure customer satisfaction Complete required documentation, photos, and job reports through company systems Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment
Compensation & Benefits:
Weekly direct deposit (with a 3-week hold). Sign on bonus Pay range depends on experience and job volume. Performance-based incentives and opportunities for advancement. Referral bonuses for bringing qualified technicians.
