Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Network Cabling Technician and become a vital part of building reliable, high-performance telecommunications and networking infrastructure. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems, fiber optic networks, and telecommunication systems across various client sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, including Ethernet, Cisco routers, VoIP systems, and fiber splicing, ensuring seamless communication solutions for diverse environments. Your technical expertise and customer service skills will drive successful project completion and client satisfaction. Duties Install and terminate network cabling including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic systems, and low-voltage electrical wiring in accordance with industry standards such as NEC. Conduct fiber splicing and testing to ensure optimal signal integrity and performance across telecommunications networks. Set up and troubleshoot networking equipment such as Cisco routers, switches, VoIP phones, and telecommunication systems. Interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and network layouts to accurately implement cabling infrastructure. Assist with the installation of structured cabling systems in commercial or industrial settings while adhering to safety protocols. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating technical information clearly and resolving issues efficiently during field service visits. Qualifications Proven experience in network installation, cabling (including Cat5/Cat6), fiber optic systems installation, and telecommunications wiring. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet protocols, and network wiring standards. Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, VoIP systems (including Avaya), and telephony setup. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints related to structured cabling projects. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, cable termination tools, crimpers, fiber splicing equipment, and diagnostic testing devices. Understanding of low-voltage electrical systems including AC/DC power supplies and NEC compliance requirements. Experience with radio frequency (RF) testing and telecommunications testing equipment is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently. Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
