ABOUT US
Aggieland Smart Home Technologies is a veteran and Aggie-owned smart home integration company based in the Brazos Valley. We design and install high-end residential and commercial technology systems — home automation, audio/video, security and surveillance, networking, structured cabling, lighting, and climate control. As a Savant integrator, we build premium systems that have to perform flawlessly the day we hand them over and every day after. We're growing, and we're growing on purpose — building the kind of company that sets the standard for integration in Central Texas and takes on high-value projects across state lines. Our name goes on every job. We're looking for a leader who wants to grow with us and help build something worth being part of.
THE ROLE
We're hiring a Lead Low Voltage Technician to run jobs from rough-in to final commissioning and lead our field crews. You'll be the person on-site who owns the outcome — keeping the work clean, the crew moving, and the client confident. This is a leadership role with real responsibility and real room to grow as the company grows. Let's be clear up front: this is a hands-on, working position. You'll be in the field every day — pulling cable, terminating, mounting gear, and getting into attics and crawlspaces right alongside your crew. This is not a clipboard-and-supervise job. You lead by doing, and you're expected to carry your weight on the tools. If you cut corners, disappear on the details, or can't communicate with a homeowner, builder, or your own crew, this isn't the job for you. If you take pride in clean, labeled, tested work and want to lead at a company that's doing integration the right way, keep reading.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling — Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber — to a clean, professional standard Install and configure low voltage systems: audio/video, home automation, security, CCTV/surveillance, access control, and network infrastructure Rack, stack, and dress network gear; configure managed switches, VLANs, access points, and routers for reliable residential and commercial networks Mount and calibrate displays, projectors, speakers, and control equipment Install and service PoE cameras, NVRs, and alarm systems Interpret plans, elevations, schematics, and scopes of work to install and maintain systems accurately across sites Assist with system commissioning and startup (we have a full-time programmer on staff — programming skills are a plus, not a requirement) Troubleshoot and service existing systems in the field Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing technical guidance and keeping jobs on schedule and up to standard Maintain clean documentation — test results, labeling, and service reports that support long-term system performance
WHAT YOU BRING
Proven low voltage experience across structured cabling, security, networking, and AV The ability to lead a crew and manage a job site start to finish Clean, organized, detail-oriented workmanship — no corner-cutting Solid troubleshooting instincts and comfort with the diagnostic and hand tools of the trade Comfort with ladders, lifts, attics, crawlspaces, and the physical side of the work Clear, professional communication with clients, builders, and crew Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record (you'll drive company vehicles) Willingness to travel out of state occasionally — travel pay reflects it Ability to pass a background check (required for security and alarm work) Bonus points (none required — they'll just bump your pay): Savant, Control4, or similar control system experience Alarm.com or other security/alarm system experience Advanced networking (VLANs, managed switches, WiFi design, UniFi) Low voltage license or industry certifications (BICSI, manufacturer certs, etc.)
HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED HERE
We want you to win, so here's what that looks like: You'll know what "done right" means. Clean racks, labeled cable, tested systems, and a client who's happy. We hold a high standard and we'll be clear about it from day one. You'll have the tools and support to do it. Company vehicles, the right gear, and a full-time programmer backing you up on the technical side so you can focus on leading the install. You'll grow as we grow. This is a company that's building. Do good work, lead well, and there's a real path here — more responsibility, more pay, and a seat as we scale.
WHAT WE OFFER
$30+/hour based on experience — we pay for skill and leadership Company vehicles provided — no wear and tear on your personal vehicle for work duties Paid out-of-state travel when jobs call for it Steady work on high-end projects you'll be proud to put your name on Room to grow with a company that's building something bigger A team that values doing it right over doing it fast and cheap Ready to lead? Send your resume and experience to or call/text 979-200-5760. Aggieland Smart Home Technologies is a veteran and Aggie-owned business and an equal opportunity employer.
