Summary:
We are searching for a versatile Security Installation Technician. Perform installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting activities on Intrusion Alarm Systems, Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Network infrastructure, PA Systems, Fire Alarm, and other PC based Systems.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT
This position requires the highest level of technical and people skills The employee must have the ability to occasionally climb ladders, use stairs and lift and/or move materials up to 40 pounds in construction areas The individual is regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment and controls required for installation projects Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth vision 3+ years of hands-on, recent experience installing access control and video surveillance cameras in a large-scale commercial environment,and new construction Must have the ability to understand access control/CCTV systems, install anything ACS, CCTV, intercom related, and troubleshoot and fix any problems that may arise during the installation process Must be able to review and understand the following: Matrix Drawings, BOM Lists, SRDs Must be able to maintain the schedule given for the job and follow DIV28 specifications for quality control Experience with the following systems: Genetec, Software House, Honeywell, Bosch Knowledge in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electric locking hardware and peripheral devices Knowledge of accessing network interface for connection to devices such as access controllers, IP cameras, Intercoms, switches and such Experience and familiarity with PC admin level changes to connect to IP cameras and the aiming/adjustment of cameras
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Required High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years experience Valid driver's license; must be able to pass driving & criminal background check Preferred Preference will be given to those who have experience with wiring panels, commissioning doors, Access Control, structured cabling, cut door strikes, mag locks and ability to work around live panels while conversions are taking place Experience supporting the implementation of analog, hybrid and IP CCTV systems, access control systems, intercom systems, wireless, intrusion systems, and fire alarm systems Must have working knowledge of local and national codes for inspection and test purposes Demonstrated ability to program basic operations on micro-processor-based systems without supervision Proficient in the operation of computers and knowledgeable on MS operating systems (including Windows 2000 Server). Ability to configure PC hardware and application programs Computer Network Experience and Qualifications would be a strong asset to this position Experience working in the construction industry and construction management Experience in design or design assist in low voltage applications is desirable Understand technical system architecture Strong troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of electronic test equipment Good communication skills and solid understanding of communication protocol Excellent customer service
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Bend, lift and carry equipment on a regular basis Bend, lift, twist, turn, and crawl into tight spaces to install devices and equipment Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required Ability to terminate cable according to color codes Ability to frequently climb up/down ladder (minimum 6') and perform extended overhead cabling/wiring from ladder Ability to grip, push, pull feed cable (up to 1200 pair) vertically into closets, horizontally in cable trays and between walls, ceilings and floors Ability to drive to job sites, to frequently get in/out of vehicle and to load/unload tools and material supplies Ability to travel out of state, potential airline travel required Ability to read, write & communicate in
