Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel & Heavy Equipment Field Technician, where you will be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing a wide variety of industrial, construction, and agricultural machinery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, ensuring optimal performance and safety across diverse job sites. Your expertise will keep vital equipment running smoothly, supporting construction projects, farm operations, and industrial operations. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, and other key components of heavy equipment. Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignments, and welding to ensure machinery operates efficiently. Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues accurately. Conduct fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications on construction machinery and farm equipment. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other construction equipment safely during maintenance or repair procedures. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs and inspections performed on equipment. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components using power tools and hand tools while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience working with heavy equipment mechanics in dealership settings or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and electrical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, tractors, and farm machinery. Proficiency in welding, fabrication, tire service, heavy lifting techniques, and HVAC systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with OEM parts and systems such as Caterpillar or similar brands; experience with electrical systems and power tools is essential. Ability to interpret technical schematics and manuals accurately; excellent mechanical knowledge combined with problem-solving skills. Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, suspension alignment or related fields are preferred but not mandatory. Pay:
$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
