POSITION SUMMARY
The Diesel Technician must repair and maintain our Anchorage Linehaul Fleet in an efficient and productive manner. Technician must be able to perform routine maintenance as well as repairs as needed. Individual must be able to perform work with efficiency and in accordance with various regulatory agencies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

A. JOB DUTIES OPERATIONS
Ultimately responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing vehicle systems including but not limited to engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension and braking. Effectively use and operate the tools and equipment required for the repair and maintenance of large vehicles. Learn and follow industrial and shop safety rules. Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Individual must be self motivated and be able to perform with minimal supervision. Individual must display initiative, candor, professionalism and tact at all times.
APPEARANCE
The appearance of the equipment, shop and employees are expected to be clean organized and project a level of confidence to our customers and coworkers.
COMMUNICATION
Responsible for clear communication with management.
OTHER DUTIES
Performs a variety of shop duties as needed and assigned. Be available to work overtime as needed to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Education :
High School diploma or GED.
Experience :
A minimum of four years experience with diesel mechanics is strongly preferred. Must have general knowledge of the petroleum industry procedures. Must have experience in working with customers, management and personnel.
Licensure/Certification :

Must have excellent leadership skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others and communicate in writing and verbally effectively with others. Must be able to present themselves as an example of Shoreside Petroleum's quality and professionalism.
Attendance :
Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
English Language :
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Summary:
A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years previous diesel mechanic experience and a good working knowledge of the petroleum distribution or related industry. A basic knowledge of personal computers, word processing and spreadsheet applications is required. CDL license with Hazmat Endorsement is preferred. A valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work directly with petroleum products. The Diesel Technician must have solid leadership abilities and be willing to work overtime when necessary and respond to call outs or emergencies while providing excellent professional service to all internal and external customers. Employs effective verbal and written communication skills and is able to lead, supervise and direct the activities of others. Possess excellent analytical and problem solving abilities as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
