Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team at The Bridge Builders of Alabama and Champ Concrete. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including construction machinery, concrete trucks, semis, and trailer. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on heavy equipment including semis, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fitment and functionality. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of construction equipment during repairs or upgrades using power tools and heavy lifting techniques. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment or industrial environments. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Familiarity with operating heavy machinery such as semis, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other construction equipment. Knowledge of electrical diagnostics for automotive and industrial systems along with troubleshooting skills for complex equipment issues. Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and OEM documentation accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to perform precise repairs. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of performing heavy lifting safely while maintaining high-quality standards.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
