We take pride in operating a safe, compliant, and well-maintained fleet—and we're looking for a skilled Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our growing team. Position Summary The Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel trucks and bottom dump trailers. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting emergency road service needs when required. The position services approximately 12+ diesel trucks and 25-30 bottom dump trailers and requires hands-on experience with air brakes, BIT inspections, welding, and preventative maintenance. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Perform comprehensive and preventative maintenance on Freightliner Cascadias, Kenworth trucks, and bottom dump trailers. Diagnose and repair all main components, including air brake systems, electrical systems, suspensions, and drivetrains. Utilize mandatory diagnostic software, operating Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link and Cummins INSITE to troubleshoot Freightliner (Detroit Diesel) and Kenworth (Cummins) engines. Conduct comprehensive safety checks, including 90-day BIT inspections and general safety inspections of equipment. Inspect and perform work on the undercarriage, safely accessing any area of the equipment to complete necessary maintenance. Weld parts as necessary to ensure the structural integrity of machinery and bottom dump trailers. Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used within the Fleet Maintenance System. Work overtime as needed to respond to unforeseen/emergency road service and repairs. Qualifications 5+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience is required. Diesel mechanic school education OR commensurate hands-on experience is mandatory. Proven experience repairing and maintaining Freightliner Cascadias (Detroit Diesel) and Kenworth trucks (Cummins), as well as bottom dump trailers. Mandatory software proficiency using Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link and Cummins INSITE. Physical capability to access all equipment areas, work in various conditions, and lift heavy components up to 50 pounds. Basic to intermediate computer skills and excellent communication skills for documentation. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
