Job Description
Lead Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technician and Heavy Equipment Technicians - Port Hueneme, CA PC Mechanical, Inc. is hiring for an upcoming Navy equipment maintenance task order at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, CA .
We are looking for:
1 Lead Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technician 2 Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technicians These positions will support preventive maintenance, inspections, functional checks, and readiness reporting on Navy Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), trucks, trailers, forklifts, generators, compressors, construction equipment, and related support equipment.

Full-time, Monday through Friday, typical daytime hours
Lead Pay Range:
$35.00-40.00 per hour, depending on experience
Technician Pay Range:
$32.00- 35.00 per hour, depending on experience

Full-time / Project-based with potential long-term opportunity Lead Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technician The Lead Technician will be responsible for helping coordinate daily maintenance activities, assigning work, reviewing completed inspections, assisting technicians, and communicating equipment status and repair needs to PC Mechanical supervision. Lead Responsibilities Lead a small crew of heavy equipment / diesel technicians Coordinate daily maintenance work and equipment inspections Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, forklifts, generators, compressors, heavy equipment, and support equipment Review technician work and inspection documentation for completeness Identify needed repairs, safety concerns, leaks, worn components, and equipment deficiencies Assist with material requests, parts needs, and service planning Support visual inspections and functional checks Help ensure equipment is ready for Government inspection and acceptance Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work area Communicate clearly with PC Mechanical supervision regarding schedule, manpower, material needs, and equipment status Lead Requirements Strong heavy equipment, diesel, truck, fleet, agricultural, construction equipment, or military equipment repair experience Prior lead, foreman, shop lead, field service lead, or senior technician experience preferred Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and document equipment condition accurately Experience with preventive maintenance programs and service documentation Hydraulic, electrical, brake, steering, suspension, and powertrain experience preferred Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently Must Pass Pre-Employment and Random Drug Screening. Drug Free Workplace. Must be able to pass background/base access requirements for work on a DoD installation Valid driver's license and clean driving record required CDL Class A or B preferred Forklift, material handling equipment, or heavy equipment operating experience preferred Must have mechanic hand tools Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technician Technicians will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and functional checks on a mixed fleet of military and construction support equipment. Technician Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance services on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, forklifts, generators, compressors, and support equipment Change fluids, filters, belts, and related maintenance items Inspect engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, attachments, and safety components Perform visual inspections and functional checks Identify needed repairs, component issues, leaks, wear, damage, and safety concerns Complete maintenance documentation and inspection forms Support equipment readiness assessments and report findings to the Lead Technician Operate equipment as needed for inspection, testing, and functional checks Maintain a clean and safe work area Follow all site safety, environmental, and base access requirements Equipment Experience Desired Experience with any of the following is preferred: CAT, John Deere, Hyster, JLG, SkyTrak, forklifts, loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, rollers, compressors, generators, and trailers Diesel trucks and heavy equipment Military equipment, MTVRs, CESE, or construction support equipment Hydraulic systems and hose/component inspections Electrical troubleshooting Preventive maintenance and service inspections Field service work from a service truck Equipment inspection and documentation General Requirements Heavy equipment, diesel, truck, fleet, agricultural, forklift, or construction equipment repair experience Ability to perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting Ability to inspect and document equipment condition accurately Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently Must Pass Pre-Employment and Random Drug Screening. Must be able to pass background/base access requirements for work on a DoD installation Valid driver's license required CDL Class A or B preferred Forklift or equipment operating experience preferred Must be able to lift, bend, climb, kneel, and work around large equipment Must be able to work outdoors as needed Basic mechanic hand tools required Preferred Qualifications Prior Navy, Seabee, CESE, military, or government contract experience Field service truck experience CDL Forklift or material handling equipment certification Heavy equipment operating experience Experience completing inspection reports, maintenance forms, or service records Familiarity with technical manuals and preventive maintenance schedules Why Work With PC Mechanical PC Mechanical, Inc. has supported Navy equipment maintenance and repair programs for many years.
