Diesel Mechanic - Night Shift

Job Description

Bill & Ray's Truck Repair has been servicing the Oskaloosa area for over 65 years and offers a great work environment where you're not just part of a team, you're family. We are looking for heavy-duty diesel truck technicians. Seeking experienced technicians to perform service, repairs, diagnostics, and other maintenance on diesel trucks and possibly perform towing and recovery services as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY
Service technicians are responsible for performing mechanical service repair orders on customer trucks. Perform diagnostics on trucks as they come in. Technicians work with the service manager to recommend repairs and services then perform repairs and services within normal standard repair times. Repair and service work will be entered into a computerized software system that details the work performed for customers. Technicians will provide high quality work that is completed correctly the first time with minimal errors and comebacks.
TYPES OF REPAIR
Preventative maintenance (inspections, oil and fluid changes, batteries, brakes, chassis lubrication, and other general maintenance) Diagnostics (check engine light, low power, leaks, electrical, etc.) Emissions systems, exhaust / after treatment repairs Engine and Fuel Systems Electrical Steering and Suspension Other repairs and maintenance jobs as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Diesel engine or similar mechanical experience > 1 year of experience Possess tools to adequately perform maintenance and basic repairs to trucks. Manufacturer-specific tools and diagnostic machines provided. Able to work with scanning tools and trained in diagnostic skills Understanding of modern diesel exhaust and after treatment systems (DEF, DPF, SCR, etc.) Motivated and able to work independently without requiring regular management oversight Prefer prior experience working on diesel engines Must possess a valid Iowa driver's license. All applicants must be legally able to work in the
USA. COMPENSATION
Position pay range is $25.00 - $35.00/hr depending upon years' experience, current certifications, and proven work track record.
EXPECTED HOURS
Night Shift 40 hours per week Four 10 hour shifts (Tuesday-Friday)
