Deisel Mechanic Americas Gold & Silver | Wallace, Idaho | Full-time | On-site We are hiring multiple mechanics! 7 on/7 off, rotating days and nights. Come join our team! Job Overview This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of underground diesel-powered mobile equipment at the Galena Mine. The Diesel Mechanic ensures equipment availability and safety by addressing mechanical issues proactively and responding promptly to breakdowns. This role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced underground mining environment and to perform physical work in demanding conditions. The mechanic will work closely with other maintenance personnel and supervisors to maintain equipment reliability and compliance with all MSHA and company safety standards. Duties Maintain and repair heavy equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently. Read and interpret schematics to diagnose mechanical issues. Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, disassemble, and repair machinery components. Align machinery parts according to specifications to ensure proper function. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment. Perform heavy lifting tasks as required during repairs and maintenance activities. Completing accurate maintenance logs, inspection sheets, and work orders Reporting recurring issues or needed capital repairs to supervisors Assisting with parts tracking and inventory usage reporting Experience 2-5 years of diesel mechanic experienced required, undeground experience preferred. Experience working with underground mining equipment such as Epiroc, Sandvik, or Caterpillar preferred Familiarity with electrical systems in heavy machinery is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. A one or two year diesel certificate is preferred but not mandatory. Hydraulics, schematics, fabrication, welding, electrical, stationary equipment, trouble shooting. Holidays and weekends required.
