Job Description

Fleet Mechanic / Fleet Equipment Technician Absolute Fleet Washing - Cordova, MD $28-$33/hour DOE Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Full-Time | Overtime Available | 401(k) Match | PTO | Year-Round Work Absolute Fleet Washing is looking for a dependable, mechanically skilled Fleet Mechanic to help us maintain and expand our growing fleet of specialized wash trucks. This is more than a traditional mechanic position. We currently operate 7 trucks out of our Cordova location , have 2 additional trucks that need to be built , and expect to grow to approximately 18 trucks by the end of next year . We build our fleet-washing trucks in-house, and the majority of our vehicle fleet is brand new. You'll work on everything from preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs to pumps, electrical systems, and specialized fleet-washing equipment. You do not need diesel experience, heavy-equipment experience, welding experience, or fabrication experience to qualify. If you have solid gas-engine automotive or truck repair experience , strong mechanical ability, and can troubleshoot problems, we want to talk to you. What You'll Do Perform preventive maintenance and routine vehicle repairs Diagnose gasoline-engine, mechanical, and electrical problems Repair brakes, suspension, batteries, starters, charging systems, and related components Maintain pumps, hoses, reels, pressure-washing systems, and fleet-washing equipment Troubleshoot and repair basic 12-volt electrical systems Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify problems before breakdowns occur Maintain accurate repair and service records Help maintain safe, reliable, DOT-compliant vehicles Work with our operations team to maximize fleet uptime Assist with new truck builds and equipment installation as needed What We're Looking For Professional automotive, fleet, truck, or similar mechanical repair experience Gas-engine repair experience Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Basic 12-volt electrical knowledge Ability to work independently Dependable, organized, and accountable Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements ASE certification is not required. Skills That Are a Plus — But Not Required Experience with any of the following is helpful, but not necessary : Diesel engines Welding Fabrication Heavy equipment Pumps or pressure-washing equipment Commercial trucks Equipment installation or truck builds If you're mechanically strong and willing to learn, we can teach you the equipment side of the business. Our mechanic isn't limited to doing the same repair every day. You'll work on trucks, electrical systems, pumps, fleet-washing equipment, and help support new truck builds as we continue expanding.
