Job description We are seeking an Experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic. Experience required

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on heavy duty vehicles (Dump trucks).
• Troubleshoots various systems, to include electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine and suspension, identifies needed repairs and performs corrective action.
• Writes up on the repair order an accurate, clear, and detailed description of the cause of failure and the repair procedure(s) used.

Primary Duties:

• Uses diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults in heavy duty vehicles and interprets test results.
• Reads written fault description on Repair Order and determines the most efficient repair procedure.
• Communicates with and provides Shop Supervisor with accurate and detailed repair information for inclusion on the repair order / work order.
• Obtains supervisor permission to complete diagnosed repairs and/or add additional repairs to a repair.
• Communicates with the Shop Supervisor with accurate and detailed information of the parts that are necessary to repair vehicles.
• Writes up clear, accurate, and detailed repair description of each operation on the corresponding repair order, to include a description of the cause of failure and the correction and / or repair procedure used.
• Interacts with drivers and other mechanics in a professional and positive manner.
• Assists other mechanics with repair procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; Formal Technical degree, certificate or equivalent work experience is preferred
• Experienced mechanics must have at least 3
• 5 years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Personal tool inventory to allow for the completion of job duties and assignments.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• A Valid Commercial Drivers License is not required, however, would be a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret shop repair order forms, repair manuals, electrical schematics and various other technical bulletins.
• Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements.
• The workday will start at 10am., and end at 6pm Monday
• Friday. Some Saturday's may be requested.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of heavy parts and equipment.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.

Being dependable with good communication skills is a must, (We do understand that life happens but contact and communication with our owners, office manager and dispatcher is a must. For any reason you are going to be late or cannot show up give our owners a heads up, as early as possible). Communication is key for a good relationship. Dedication is a must.
