About the Position This is not fleet maintenance. We regularly take on repairs and projects that many shops are not equipped to handle. You'll work on a variety of equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, air, hydraulic, and after-treatment systems. If you enjoy being challenged, solving difficult problems, and thinking outside the box, this may be the place for you. Compensation will be based on experience, knowledge, skill set, initiative, and tool inventory. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of equipment Perform preventative maintenance and inspections Troubleshoot electrical, air, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Complete repair orders accurately and on time Work independently with little to no supervision Work efficiently while producing quality repairs Maintain a clean and safe work area Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 3 years of diesel maintenance experience required Associate degree preferred Additional relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of the degree Experience with: Brakes Wheel seals Electrical wiring Oil leak diagnosis and repair Preventive maintenance After-treatment systems Air brake systems R134a A/C systems Welding experience required; must be proficient in MIG and TIG welding Basic computer skills required to complete repair orders and review diagnostic information Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required CDL is not required but is a definite plus Ability to pass a drug test and background check Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment Excellent attention to detail Quality workmanship is expected, and employees are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Reliable attendance and flexibility with work hours based on customer needs Tools You are expected to have your own tools. If you're borrowing it, it's time to buy one.
