Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and HVAC system checks to maximize equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and electrical diagnostics tools to identify root causes quickly. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, power tools, and hand tools to ensure precise fit and function. Service a variety of machinery including excavators, loaders, dozers, tractors-trailers, construction machinery, and aggregate equipment, while adhering to safety standards. Assist with heavy lifting tasks during repairs or assembly using appropriate heavy equipment operation techniques. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Skills Heavy equipment mechanics with a focus on diesel engine diagnostics and repair. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and schematics interpretation. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools efficiently. Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and assembly of parts for custom repairs or modifications. Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving transmissions, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC units, and electrical systems.
Pay:
$45.00 - $65.00 per hour
