Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to keep equipment running smoothly. Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to support repairs or custom modifications. Operate heavy machinery tractor-trailers safely during maintenance or repair procedures. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements. Assist with equipment assembly, disassembly, testing, and general maintenance tasks to maximize operational uptime. Requirements Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician/Mechanic in a dealership or heavy equipment environment with strong mechanical knowledge. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and heavy truck repair including transmissions and diesel engine repair. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery is highly desirable. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulics effectively. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and other fabrication tools. Knowledge of vehicle systems including air brakes, suspension components, shocks & struts, HVAC systems for trucks or industrial equipment. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs or maintenance needs to clients or team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions; willingness to work on-call or overtime if required.
