In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment at various job sites. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of machinery, including trucks, liftgates, chassis, and industrial systems, in an environment that values technical excellence and proactive problem-solving. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems of heavy trucks and equipment. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and brake inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan. Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational requirements. Operate equipment such as forklifts and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair tasks. Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic codes to accurately identify issues and determine appropriate solutions. Assist with vehicle assembly, equipment repair, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems for farm machinery, industrial equipment, or vehicle fleets. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure compliance with safety standards related to vehicle maintenance and repair. Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel mechanic. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspensions, shocks & struts, and powertrain components. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics interpretation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various outdoor environments or confined spaces. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance apparatus. Familiarity with heavy truck repair, including air brake systems and vehicle alignment procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Valid certifications in automotive repair or diesel engine repair preferred; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry advancements. Traveling to various locations is a must!
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
