The range of tasks include equipment service, tire repair, up fit vehicles with specialized equipment, modify and fabricate equipment and parts, weld broken items, obtain parts, maintain tools and keep the shop area in a clean and orderly condition. Employee must perform skilled mechanical repair and overhaul work on various types of fleet equipment such as automobiles, trucks (both light and heavy duty), gasoline and diesel engines, power line construction equipment (including buckets, boom trucks and diggers), trenchers and hoists in accordance with standard practices. Repair, rebuild, or replace various types of hydraulic equipment such as pumps, hoses, cylinders, jacks, and other related parts and various types of transmissions, including automatic, manual and hydrostatic drive systems and their related components. Perform skilled diagnostic and repair procedures on standard and electronic ignition systems, along with computerized fuel injection, diesel fuel systems and total vehicle electrical systems. Weld and modify equipment, including fabrication of parts as needed. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs on various types of vehicles and machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Service and repair John Deere, Komatsu, and Bobcat equipment and other machinery as needed. Utilize welding skills to repair or fabricate parts as required. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technology. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide appropriate solutions. Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Use power tools and specialized equipment to assemble, disassemble, and repair diesel engines. Keep accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
