Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for mechanics with dealership experience or those familiar with industrial and farm machinery to advance their careers in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks, including engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, brake systems, suspension, hydraulics, and air brake systems. Conduct inspections using schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues accurately. Repair or replace components such as shocks & struts, HVAC systems, wheel alignments, and tire services. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify mechanical or electrical issues. Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist with assembly and disassembly of components during repairs or upgrades. Support customer service efforts by providing professional communication regarding repair status and recommendations. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty diesel engines; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and air brakes. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of hand tools or power tools required for repairs. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures for tractor-trailers and industrial equipment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation. Valid driver's license preferred; relevant certifications in automotive or diesel repair are a plus.
