Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic that is responsible for performing skilled and complex mechanical repairs on diesel engines and trucks in accordance with Company and industry standards. Runs diagnostics on trucks and performs other mechanical duties such as inspecting, repairing, fabricating, rebuilding, and maintaining diesel engines. Must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions. Responsibilities Must be at least 21 years of age and able to maintain insurability with Company insurance Must have a valid driver's license; ASE Diesel Certification an asset Able to repair all trailer lights, brakes (air, hydraulic and electric) and axles Perform skilled and complex mechanical repairs on diesel engines and Company trucks Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues Conduct regular preventative maintenance on Company trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users Undertake other duties as assigned Keep logs of work and report on issues Assists in maintaining parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop Collaborates with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs Performs regular diagnostic tests on trucks Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles Coordinates repair services and purchase supplies from vendors Provide guidance to other mechanic personnel regarding repairs and analysis. Skills Proven experience as a Mechanic Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers) Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines Good communication skills A problem-solving ability Very good physical strength and stamina High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
