In this hands-on field role, you'll assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of transformers from various OEMs at power plants, substations, and industrial facilities. You'll work in a supportive team environment and have the opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, safety-first organization.
What You'll Do:
Assemble transformer components such as radiators, bushings, and conservators Perform degassing, pressure, and vacuum testing using dehydrator units Re-gasket units and fabricate gaskets or O-rings when needed Assist with teardown and preparation of transformers for transport or disposal Identify and resolve basic wiring and mechanical issues Complete assigned tasks and daily work orders accurately and on schedule Inspect and operate tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment safely Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements when working near noise, electrical hazards, and at elevated heights Support the sales team by reporting project opportunities and potential customer leads
The Experience We're Looking For:
2 to 5 years of experience in transformer oil processing, service, or assembly Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and online platforms Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to follow instructions Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting team objectives
Additional Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license Willingness to travel up to 80% across the continental U.S. Ability to pass a DOT physical exam Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests Legal authorization to work in the United States Availability for extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights exceeding 100 feet, operate in confined spaces, and perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions Good vision, hearing, and English proficiency to ensure safe and effective communication in noisy environments Bonus Points for: Experience with transformer oil filtration, testing, or disassembly Possession of a Class
A CDL, OSHA
training, or a TWIC card Holding a DOT medical certification Familiarity with transformer components, control wiring, or oil filtration Experience using shop equipment, electrical tools, or test platforms Knowledge of transformer teardown or disposal preparation procedures Previous work experience with energized equipment or substations
