Sites Flex Gen Permanent Full - Time What You Can Expect ENGIE North America is hiring a Battery Energy System Storage Tech II, for our Century Oak site in Cisco, TX. Your daily responsibilities include but not limited to, installing, maintaining, testing, adjusting, troubleshooting & repairing relay and control equipment in the electrical substation which may include electromechanical, solid-state and microprocessor protective relays, instrument transformers, indication and KWH/KW meters, controls to all substation equipment including breakers, transformers, regulators, capacitors, reactors and all associated equipment, and remote control equipment including various forms of SCADA. You will be responsible for filling out permits to work, job safety plans (JSPs), lock-out tag-out (LOTO) procedures and perform last minute risk assessments. You must execute preventative maintenance tasks on site specific equipment during monthly - semi-annual - annual maintenance cycles. You will demonstrate reactive maintenance skills, such as intermediate troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis, to reestablish faulted units. In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be: Interpret ENGIE's official documentation, such as LOTO procedures, work instructions, routine maintenance checklists, and create and follow up on work orders and observations created in Maximo
Read, understand and execute switching procedures for substation outages Conduct site orientations to original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) representatives, independent service provider's (ISP's), vendors, and site visitors, and accompany them to units to perform LOTO and general supervision when needed, to make sure all the mentioned groups adhere to ENGIE's quality and safety standards
Participate in a Qualified Electrical Worker Competency Skills test, in which you will demonstrate knowledge on taking AC/DC voltage readings, perform a hot-cold-hot tests, use CAT IV PPE, use a shotgun stick to apply cluster grounds and to verify the absence of voltage using a non-contact voltage detector, and in the use of a voltage detector tester What You'll Bring Minimum High School Diploma/GED or a diploma in an electrical program where you have learned AC/DC voltage, general electrical theory, basic understanding of one-line and three-line schematics, operation & maintenance of electrical equipment such as AC/DC breakers, AC/DC disconnects, MV transformers, NO/NC contactors, and relays.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in any/or BESS sites, molar generation sites, wind generation sites, thermal power plants, manufacturing or mining operations, or controls & instrumentation maintenance
Intermediate knowledge in inverter original equipment manufacturers
Must have knowledge on how to use (OEM) control & supervisory programs, such as Power Supervisor, Monitor Fusion, LC/BSC/PCS/CMU Interface, etc., as well as ENGIE's Broadview supervisory & control program
Intermediate knowledge in SCADA monitoring, and be willing to mentor more junior technicians
Knowledge of how to use basic hand and power tools, such as screwdrivers, crescent wrenches, pliers, ratchet wrenches, analog or digital torque wrenches, sockets, drills, impacts, etc.
Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor Additional Details This is a field position requiring daily travel to ENGIE sites
Must be available to travel domestically to support other support operations at other ENGIE Renewable Generation (Solar, Wind and BESS sites)
Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
Compensation Hourly Range:
$32.00 - $38.00 USD hourly This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
