Job Description Installation & Commissioning

Install, calibrate, and commission industrial control systems, tank gauging systems, instrumentation, valves, and mechanical fittings at customer sites worldwide.
Follow technical specifications, blueprints, and installation procedures to ensure correct placement, alignment, and configuration of electrical and mechanical components.
Perform system calibration, testing, and validation to confirm proper operation before customer acceptance.
Document installation procedures, equipment settings, and commissioning results for customer records and compliance. Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues involving controls, instrumentation, electronics, valves, fittings, and mechanical systems.
Perform field testing using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, diagnostic tools) and mechanical analysis to identify root causes.
Implement repairs, replacements, or recalibrations to restore systems to full operational capability.
Provide remote troubleshooting support when on-site presence is not feasible, coordinating with engineering and technical teams as needed. Customer Training & Support
Conduct on-site and in-house training sessions on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and regulatory compliance.
Develop training materials, documentation, and technical guides tailored to customer needs and environments.
Build long-term customer relationships by ensuring they are confident and capable of operating and maintaining systems independently.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries, provide technical guidance, and escalate complex issues to engineering teams when required. International Field Service & Travel
Travel to customer sites internationally (up to 70% of the time) to provide installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support services.
Manage logistics, schedule coordination, and travel planning to ensure efficient field operations and customer satisfaction.
Adapt to diverse cultural, language, regulatory, and operational environments across wastewater, oil & gas, chemical, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
Maintain professional representation of Cognesense and build strong customer relationships across international markets. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate and detailed service records, work logs, maintenance reports, and field notes for all customer interactions and service activities.
Document equipment specifications, configuration settings, calibration data, and any modifications made during service visits.
Use service management software and systems to log work orders, capture field data, and communicate status to internal teams and customers. Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with engineering, sales, technical support, and operations teams to resolve complex issues and optimize field service delivery.
Report installation defects, equipment issues, or design concerns to product engineering teams for resolution.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and enhanced service delivery.
Stay current with product updates, technical developments, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

The Successful Applicant At least 5 years of practical experience performing field service, equipment installation, maintenance, or commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems in industrial settings. Comprehensive knowledge of industrial instrumentation, control systems, tank gauging equipment, valves, mechanical fittings, and associated components. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve both electrical and mechanical issues. Skilled in the use of electrical testing instruments, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment, as well as mechanical testing and inspection techniques. Experience delivering technical training and customer support to individuals with a broad range of technical knowledge and experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset. Willingness and ability to travel internationally for up to 70% of the role, with a valid passport required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and field service management or work order software. Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a closely related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience.
