At STERIS, our services power a healthier, safer world across healthcare and life sciences. Imagine this scenario You arrive at a California hospital for a preventive maintenance visit. Midway through, a service call comes in for a device on a nearby floor. You triage, diagnose, and repair—documenting each step in our digital platform. A tricky fault appears, so you sync with Tech Support and Engineering, then close the loop with the Customer by outlining repair options and pricing. Before you leave, you complete a field upgrade and log the warranty details. It's all in a day's work. Role logistics Remote, Customer-facing position primarily inside hospitals.
Territory requirement:
You must be based in California. Support multiple sites in your assigned area per service agreements and Customer needs. Core responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components. Independently prioritize PMs, service and warranty calls, installations, field upgrade programs, and related tasks. Collaborate with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management; leverage advanced technology platforms to meet compliance requirements, resolve issues, and document work. Provide clear information to Customers, including pricing and repair options; with management support, partner with Sales to enhance Customer experience and identify revenue opportunities. What you bring High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of work experience, including at least 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. An associate degree, relevant technical/mechanical certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may be considered toward the technical experience requirement. Valid driver's license and the ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain existing and new vendor credentialing requirements. Proven Customer engagement and team collaboration. Strong written and verbal communication. Competence with Windows/email, navigation, mobile apps, and entering data across multiple systems. Ability to work flexible hours, including early/late shifts and potential overnights, to meet Customer and business needs.
