Job Description

Marysville-Otisco-Nabb Water Corporation is accepting applications for a dependable and motivated Field Service Representative to assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the water distribution system. This position involves working directly with customers, maintaining water system infrastructure, collecting regulatory samples, locating underground utilities, and helping ensure safe and reliable water service for our members.
Primary Responsibilities Duties include:
Reading, installing, replacing, and troubleshooting water meters. Completing customer service orders and investigating leaks, low pressure, high usage, and water-quality concerns. Performing chlorine residual testing and collecting bacteriological samples. Flushing water mains and fire hydrants. Completing utility locates and marking water-system facilities. Collecting GPS coordinates and updating system maps and asset records. Inspecting and maintaining valves, hydrants, booster stations, storage facilities, and other distribution-system equipment. Assisting with leak detection, emergency response, boil-water advisories, and regulatory documentation. Maintaining vehicles, tools, equipment, inventory, and utility facilities. Participating in an after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call rotation. Performing other duties related to the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system.
Qualifications Applicants must have:
A high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Strong customer-service and communication skills. Basic computer, tablet, smartphone, and data-entry skills. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely use tools and field equipment. The ability to work independently, outdoors in varying weather conditions, and respond during emergencies. The ability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Previous water utility, plumbing, construction, excavation, public works, mechanical, meter-reading, utility-locating, GPS, or water-sampling experience is preferred. An Indiana Distribution System Medium (DSM) operator certification is preferred. The selected candidate will be required to obtain a DSM certification within 18 months of employment. Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits This is a full-time position with regular working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On-call, evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency work may be required. Starting compensation will be based on experience. Although health insurance is not provided, the utility offers an annual payment in lieu of health insurance.
