Our team members play an important role in maintaining high-quality facilities and services that support student success throughout the District. Job Summary The Field Service Specialist is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and improving field service activities related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire, safety, and security systems throughout the District's physical school plant. This position provides support and guidance to Electricians and Systems Specialists, including purchasing, coordination, and communication. The Field Service Specialist also works with out-of-district vendors to ensure services are effective and meet District needs. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to gather information and compare pricing. Coordinate the installation, repair, and replacement of assigned systems, including fire, security, key, lock, and door systems. Diagnose causes of problems and failures in fire, safety, and security systems and identify repair or replacement needs. Communicate with personnel regarding procedures and the status of work orders. Maintain accurate files and records related to field service activities. Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned. Perform skilled/general maintenance and other work as directed by a supervisor. Prepare written materials, including repair status reports and activity logs. Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure materials are available for installations and repairs. Respond to emergency situations during and after regular working hours to address immediate safety concerns. Transport tools, equipment, and supplies to job sites as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Job-related experience within a specialized field is required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of safety practices and procedures. Knowledge of methods and materials used to program, install, maintain, and service energy control systems. Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, regulations, and laws. Ability to perform multiple technical tasks and adapt to changing job conditions. Ability to operate equipment used in the maintenance and repair of energy systems. Ability to plan and manage projects. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records. Ability to use standard office equipment and applicable software. Ability to schedule activities and manage multiple priorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and schedules. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups.
