As a Field Service Technician, you will have a pivotal role in solving our customers' business problems using your technical expertise and great customer service skills. Job Purpose:
The Field Resource Technician will support field service requests for distributed and assembled products. Field Service Technician will support panel construction or drive repair at the Webster shop when not scheduled for field service calls.
Key Responsibilities:
On-site customer service for industrial motor control products: AC drives, power electronic controls, industrial power systems / power supplies, and / or power electronics Performs start up services, preventive maintenance, and general repair services on motor control products Complete required field documentation and reports and electronically transmit appropriate completed reports (i.e. job related field service report, expense report, etc.) in a timely fashion as dictated by company policy and departmental procedures Clearly communicate with customer to obtain feedback, correct problems and address client issues Ensure equipment/systems are working properly with the required level of compliance, quality, technical performance, and customer satisfaction Will be required to share on-call duties Perform wiring and/or layout of control panels in-house or on-site at a customer Follow procedures to refurbish used ABB drives Work performed in the Oil & Gas and Chemical Plant industry.
Measurements:
Utilization >= 90% Profitability Proven record of high client satisfaction
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in a technical discipline is preferred (equivalent experience is considered) A minimum of 2 years' experience troubleshooting industrial electronics or performing engineering duties related to application and installation of automation equipment on machinery.
Soft Skills:
Ability to work flexible hours and weekends Ability to report to the office when not scheduled in the field Up to 80% local travel is required Detail oriented Good customer service mentality Patient Works well under pressure Excellent customer service skills with a proven record of high client satisfaction Good communication skills, verbal and written
Hard Skills:
Troubleshooting or field experience with AC and DC drives, or other Industrial equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical layout and schematics Needs to have a good understanding of AC and DC Drives, Motion Control, PLC's and HMI products as to how they are configured and programmed Knowledge of common wiring hand tools and multimeters Knowledge of
OSHA NEC / UL 508A
Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling of materials. Troubleshoot industrial AC and DC control circuits. DISA compliance which includes drug testing, random drug testing, and background checks. Maintain ongoing training and certifications in coordination with HR such as: Basic Plus and customer required training.

Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, some Saturdays. ( Hours can vary depending on client needs ) Overtime pay available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.
