Job Description

At Partners Excavating, we have been providing pre-construction site work, paving, and concrete services in the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding areas since 1975 and are looking for the right team members to contribute to our mission of excellence and progress. Our leadership and field team is well known for teamwork, integrity, and supporting community. The GPS Department is responsible for constructing GPS modeling that our field team uses to detect the precise grade of the land that is being worked. Information is used for various measurement purposes including basic land marking and models that are loaded directly into the guidance systems in various pieces of excavation equipment. While working in this department you'll get to learn how this amazing technology works and develop a unique skillset that leads to future career opportunities. Job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Provide stakeouts, problem solving assistance, and other day to day GPS functions. Assist in training field staff on routine maintenance of GPS technology. Assist in implementation of new GPS technology and processes as directed. Gather data and/or topography shots for as-built models. Respond to and address GPS tech/model problems in the field. Report problems and findings to GPS Manager. Build field models prior to grading operations. Ensure field models are kept up to date. Experience Prior GPS Experience is preferred, but will train the right candidate. Previous excavation and/or utility experience preferred. Qualifications High School Diploma or above. General knowledge of computers. Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) Ability to work well individually and with a team Valid driver's license Ability to pass background screening (criminal and driving record check) Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for multiple hours. Ability to climb. Ability to kneel and crouch. Ability to twist and reach. Ability to grasp, pull, and push. Location On-site (not remote) Home office is located in Mt. Crawford, VA Ability to travel to jobsites on a daily basis is required. A company vehicle will be provided for travel. Job Type Full-time Salary $24-28 per hour depending on experience.
