Job Description

Set your own pace. Keep good buildings running. $25/hour
  • 30 hours guaranteed every week
  • Extra project work whenever you want it
  • 1 week paid time off your first year
  • Local work, home every night Go Nest is a growing, locally owned property management company in Westbrook.
We take care of residential, small office, and retail properties across Cumberland County, and we're looking for one reliable, all-around maintenance technician to be the backbone of our operation. Here's what makes this one different: the job fits where you are. Just getting going in the trades, or a few years in and looking to build? You've got a 30-hour floor and all the extra project work you can take on top — the kind of variety that turns a beginner into a real generalist fast, with experienced people to learn from. A seasoned hand looking for steady work without the grind? Same 30-hour floor, no mandatory on-call, no weekends unless you want them, and a company that treats a career's worth of skill like the asset it is.
Either way:
we're small, we're flexible, and we trust the people we hire to run their own day. No micromanaging, no getting double-booked, no being treated like a number. What you'll do A real mix — never the same day twice: General repairs and unit turnovers (drywall, doors, hardware, fixtures) Painting and patching Light plumbing (faucets, drains, toilets, water heaters, leaks) Light electrical (outlets, switches, fixtures, troubleshooting) Kitchen and bath repairs, appliance swaps Seasonal and preventative maintenance across our properties Odd jobs and problem-solving — the stuff that makes tenants happy and owners loyal You won't be thrown in the deep end alone. We keep a seasoned electrician/plumber on call to back you up on the complicated jobs, so there's always someone to phone when a project gets tricky. You bring solid hands and good judgment; we've got you covered on the rest. What we're looking for Some hands-on experience — trade school, a maintenance or construction job, a family business, a full career behind you, or serious DIY. If you can show us you know your way around a toolbox, we want to talk. Comfortable across multiple areas — carpentry, painting, basic plumbing and electrical Reliable, communicates well, and takes pride in doing a job right the first time Valid driver's license and your own reliable vehicle Someone who shows up, works steady, and doesn't need to be chased — that matters more to us than being a master of any one trade You don't need to be a licensed electrician or plumber. You need to be a dependable generalist who knows what he can handle and when to call in backup. What we offer $25/hour with 30 hours guaranteed every week — that's your floor, paid year-round whether the week is busy or quiet (about $39,000/year before any extra work) Extra project work whenever you want it — bigger jobs come up regularly and pay on top of your base. Want more hours and more money? They're there. Happy at 30? That's fine too. Your call, every week. 1 week paid time off in your first year , and it grows from there A genuinely flexible schedule — we care that the work gets done well, not that you're chained to a clock On-call is optional, not required. Want to pick up extra paid on-call work? Great. Don't want to? Also great. Annual bonus to put toward health insurance or retirement savings — real support for your future Mileage, gas, and phone reimbursement — you're never paying out of pocket to do your job Experienced backup and job support whenever you need it — you're never on your own Steady, year-round W-2 work with a local company that's growing — and home every night Why Go Nest We're small enough that you'll actually matter here, and stable enough to count on. Whether you're building toward something or putting a long career to good use, the right person has a real place with us. If you want autonomy, respect, honest pay, and a company that treats you like a professional instead of a warm body — this is the spot.
