This part-time, W2 position offers the independence of field work with the stable support of a national brand. We handle the business operations, booking, and customer service scheduling so you can focus entirely on your craft. You will work out of your home, traveling to pre-scheduled jobs throughout the Murfreesboro area in your own truck or van. This role is ideal for an experienced craftsman looking for a flexible schedule, reliable pay, and a supportive team environment. What Success Looks Like On a day-to-day basis, you will travel to residential and light commercial sites to complete a variety of mid-sized repair and improvement projects. You will assess the scope of work, communicate clearly with the property owner about the process, and deliver high-quality results in carpentry, drywall, tiling, and minor electrical or plumbing tasks. Over time, success in this role means building trust with our local clients through consistent, professional service. You will help maintain our top-rated local reputation by completing jobs efficiently, managing materials responsibly using a company-provided credit card, and accurately documenting completed work.
Solid hands-on knowledge of carpentry, drywall repair, painting, tiling, and minor plumbing and electrical work.
Tools:
Possession of a standard set of hand and power tools appropriate for the trades listed above.
Transportation:
A reliable, presentable work truck or van to transport yourself and your tools to local job sites.
Licensing:
A current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Service skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain repair processes clearly to customers.
Problem-solving:
Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose maintenance issues and determine the best course of action.
Administrative skills:
Ability to handle basic job documentation, material tracking, and digital invoicing. Nice-to-Have Qualifications Ten or more years of experience in home residential repair or remodeling. Experience estimating project costs, times, and material needs. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Compensation and Benefits This is a part-time, W2 position offering a competitive hourly rate and a supportive work structure.
Hourly Pay:
$25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
