This pivotal role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring safety standards are upheld, and maintaining optimal operational performance across all equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for problem-solving to keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate a team of mechanics and technicians in performing maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy equipment, farm machinery, industrial systems, and vehicles. Conduct detailed inspections using schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other machinery. Perform complex repairs including transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, electrical systems, and HVAC units. Oversee fabrication tasks such as welding and assembly to modify or repair equipment as needed. Utilize power tools, hand tools, soldering equipment, and welding apparatus to complete maintenance tasks efficiently. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards while maintaining accurate service records. Provide mentorship to junior mechanics by sharing technical knowledge on heavy truck repair, automotive electrical systems, tire service, and vehicle maintenance. Qualifications Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel mechanics and automotive diagnostics. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts. Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers; familiarity with schematics is essential. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and metal assembly; capable of performing precise equipment modifications. Strong understanding of vehicle systems for trucks used by drivers or fleet operations; experience with automotive electrical system repair is preferred. Ability to use diagnostic tools for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently. Excellent leadership skills with the abilityto guide a team through technical challenges while maintaining safety standards.
