Job Summary:

We're hiring an experienced heavy equipment mechanic with welding/fabrication skills and hands-on crusher and screen plant experience.

This is a dual-role position:

you'll keep our crashers, screens, conveyors, heavy equipment, and service trucks running, and you'll also operate equipment as needed to support production. This role requires proven mining or aggregate industry experience, general automotive or unrelated mechanical backgrounds will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy mobile equipment (loaders, dozers, excavators, haul trucks, blades) and plant machinery Weld, fabricate, and perform structural repairs on equipment, plant components, and wear parts Operate and maintain crushers, screens, conveyors, and related plant systems Perform routine maintenance: greasing, fueling, oil changes, wear-part replacement Operate heavy equipment (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, excavators, material handlers) as production requires Troubleshoot mechanical and plant issues efficiently, working closely with the team Handle materials, clean hoppers, shovel spills, load trucks, and keep the site organized and safe Follow all MSHA Part 46 regulations with a strong safety-first mindset Assist with basic inventory tracking and record-keeping Required Qualifications Proven, hands-on experience as a heavy equipment/mobile mechanic in a mining, quarry, or aggregate production environment Demonstrated welding and fabrication skills (structural and equipment repair) Direct experience operating and maintaining crushers, screens, and conveyors Willingness and ability to operate heavy equipment as part of daily production Strong mechanical aptitude across both fixed plant and mobile equipment Clean safety record; MSHA Part 46 training completed or willingness to complete it Physically able to perform manual labor and work outdoors in extreme heat and cold Reliable personal vehicle able to handle a ~17.5-mile each-way daily commute on dirt road Dependable, team-oriented, strong work ethic Preferred (Training Available) Formal certifications in heavy equipment repair or welding Experience with specific aggregate production machines (loaders, dozers, excavators, haul trucks) Prior quarry or mine operations background MSHA Part 46 24-hour miner training Benefits Competitive compensation Medical coverage after 90 days Paid Time Off (PTO) Small annual vehicle allowance What We're Looking for is Safety, conscious, dependable, adaptable, and a strong problem-solver who takes pride in maintenance quality and pitches in wherever needed, someone who thrives in a physical, outdoor, hands-on role.
