We pride ourselves on our reliable team and commitment to excellence in every job we undertake. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy equipment, farm machinery, and vehicle systems. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our ongoing commitment to quality service delivery. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system servicing. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational needs. Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive electrical systems, sensors, and wiring harnesses. Repair transmissions, air brakes, shocks & struts. Service and repair light equipment and small engines. Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and unexpected breakdowns. Inspect vehicles and equipment for safety concerns and needed repairs. Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, parts, and equipment service history. Order and organize parts, tools, fluids, and shop supplies as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with getting vehicles or equipment back in service. Coordinate outside repairs when specialized service is required. Help manage company tools and equipment and identify items needing replacement or repair. Assist with fabricating, modifying, or improving equipment when needed. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulations. Experience Proven experience as a shop mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and repair. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Experience working with small engines, light equipment, vehicles, trailers, pumps, generators, or hydraulic systems. Basic knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostics. Ability to use diagnostic tools and a variety of hand and power tools. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic testing devices. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repair needs and maintenance procedures. We need someone who is a problem solver and self-starter —the person who can look at a broken machine or piece of equipment, figure out what's wrong, and get it back up and running. The right candidate takes pride in keeping equipment organized, maintained, and ready so our plumbing technicians can stay productive in the field.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
