We are hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician for our Central / Denver Metro territory. You will be assigned a fully upfitted Peterbilt service truck (crane, compressor, welder, lube system, diagnostic equipment, and rolling parts inventory) that goes home with you every night. No shop check-in, no yard time. You dispatch from your driveway straight to the jobsite. You will work alongside a bench where the majority of our technicians hold OEM Master-Level certifications across Komatsu, Caterpillar, John Deere and Volvo. If you have ever been the only person in the building who could chase a hard electrical or hydraulic problem to ground, that is not the situation here. There is real senior support on the other end of the phone. This is an independent shop with dealer-grade capability. What You Will Do Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in the field, including excavators, dozers, loaders, articulated trucks, motor graders, and related machinery, using OEM software, schematics, and factory specifications. Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, engine, aftertreatment, drivetrain, brake, and HVAC systems, working from symptom to root cause rather than parts swapping. Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance, including oil and filter service, fluid sampling, hydraulic and coolant system service, undercarriage inspection, and component wear measurement. Complete component replacement and in-field repairs: final drives, travel and swing motors, pumps, cylinders, turbos, injectors, radiators, and related assemblies. Fabricate, weld, and cut as needed to complete repairs and restore equipment to service safely. Function-test and verify repairs under load before releasing machines back to the customer. Write clear, complete work orders that document findings, cause, correction, parts used, and time. Good documentation is how we bill accurately and how customers trust our word. Communicate directly with customers on site: explain what you found, what it will take, and what you recommend. You are the face of the company at the jobsite. Manage your truck inventory, tooling, DOT compliance, and daily route in coordination with dispatch. Support rebuild, inspection, and equipment commissioning work as scheduling allows. What We Are Looking For 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing heavy construction equipment. Dealer, independent shop, rental fleet, or large owner-operator fleet experience all count. Strong diagnostic ability on hydraulic and electrical systems, including the ability to read and work from schematics. Diesel engine experience, including modern emissions and aftertreatment systems. Comfort with OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software and laptop-based troubleshooting. Welding and basic fabrication skill sufficient for field repair work. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. CDL is a plus, or we will support you in getting one. Ability to work independently, make sound calls without a supervisor standing there, and know when to escalate. Professional, direct communication with customers. Nice to have, not required: OEM factory training or certification on Komatsu, Caterpillar, Volvo, or comparable brands. Experience with undercarriage, final drive, or hydraulic component rebuild. Pay:

$45.00 - $65.00 per hour
