We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of trailers and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics passionate about heavy equipment, vehicle systems, and innovative repair solutions to showcase their skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties - Part Time (Nights & Weekends) Perform comprehensive inspections of trailers, including brakes, suspensions, axles, electrical systems, and hydraulics to identify issues proactively. Conduct repairs and maintenance on trailers and heavy equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools. Troubleshoot mechanical problems utilizing schematics, technical manuals, and automotive electrical system repair techniques. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed to meet specific operational requirements or improve performance. Service and repair vehicle systems such as transmissions, air brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and diesel engines. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Assist with heavy lifting and equipment assembly tasks to support fleet readiness and operational needs. Skills Proven heavy equipment mechanic experience with a strong background in vehicle maintenance and diagnostics. Extensive knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding, and working with schematics for complex machinery. Hands-on experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, or tractor-trailers. Proficiency in automotive electrical system repair, hydraulic systems, suspension alignment, tire service, and brake repair. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other maintenance tools for effective repairs. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; strong mechanical knowledge of heavy truck repair and diesel mechanics. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service experience to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
