Job Summary The mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on the company's fleet of heavy-duty trucks, forklifts (LP and Diesel), yard jockeys, and other material handling equipment. This position plays a key role in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring safe and reliable fleet operations. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, forklifts, and yard jockeys. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine problems. Repair diesel engines, LP forklift systems, hydraulic systems, steering, suspension, and brake systems. Troubleshoot electrical systems (12V and 24V). Replace and repair components such as alternators, starters, water pumps, belts, hoses, brakes, radiators, and hydraulic components. Perform inspections and identify potential failures before they become major repairs. Maintain accurate maintenance records using Fleetio. Communicate parts requirements to the Maintenance Manager. Keep work areas clean and follow OSHA safety standards. Assist with emergency repairs when required. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic and/or forklift technician. Experience working on heavy-duty trucks. Experience repairing LP and diesel forklifts. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems. Experience diagnosing electrical systems. Ability to read service manuals and repair procedures. Valid driver's license. CDL is a plus but not required. Spanish speaking required. Preferred Skills Experience with Toyota, Caterpillar, Hyster, Nissan, Ottawa, Kalmar, Freightliner, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel equipment. Experience using diagnostic software. Welding and fabrication experience. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills. Work Environment / Physical Demands Work performed indoors and outdoors. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing. Exposure to grease, oil, diesel fuel, hydraulic fluids, dust, and varying weather conditions. Occasional overtime and emergency repairs as operational needs require. Why Join Us?
