Job Description

Immediate Opening Hancock Environmental Seeding, Inc. is seeking an experienced Farm Chief Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of our fleet of farm equipment, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and support equipment. This is a leadership position for a hands-on mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely, efficiently, and ready for the next job. If you're organized, mechanically skilled, and enjoy leading a maintenance program, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities Lead and manage the maintenance and repair of all farm equipment, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and support equipment. Diagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues. Schedule and perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. Coordinate repairs and prioritize equipment based on operational needs. Maintain detailed documentation of all repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, service history, labor performed, and parts used on every piece of equipment. Track parts inventory, order replacement parts as needed, and maintain accurate maintenance records for the entire fleet. Ensure all equipment is safe, reliable, compliant, and job-ready. Work closely with management to keep projects operating efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop and work area. Qualifications Extensive experience repairing farm equipment, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and diesel-powered machinery. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and preventative maintenance. Previous leadership or shop management experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills. Experience maintaining service logs, maintenance records, and parts inventory. Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus). Self-motivated, dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Full-time, year-round employment Benefits available
