Job Description

Job Summary:
Midsouth Rentals LLC is a progressive family-owned rental company that has an opening for a full-time Shop Technician at its DeFuniak Springs, FL location. We are searching for a qualified and ambitious individual who is ready to grow their career and perform maintenance and repairs of equipment in a safe and professional manner. Job duties include the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel systems, and various types of construction and rental equipment. You will also be responsible for service documentation and the demonstration of equipment for customer use.
Requirements:
Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record•Class A CDL preferred but not required Previous experience repairing and maintaining vehicles and construction equipment Must possess a strong mechanical background and a basic understanding of schematics and diagrams Must own the tools applicable to the position Must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical exam Must be honest, reliable, dependable, and display a positive attitude Must have superior customer service skills and the ability to provide this to each customer Clean background check (required for access to military bases) Must be self-motivated, flexible, adaptable, and capable of responding effectively to ever changing work demands and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
Visually inspect equipment to diagnose problems and evaluate malfunctions Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel systems and various types of rental equipment Document repairs, maintain equipment records, and complete necessary paperwork for work orders and reports Maintain inventory records, track repairable parts, and ensure parts are ordered and stocked properly Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment Keep the shop area clean and organized
Physical Requirements:
Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, typically up to 50 pounds regularly Capacity to work in a noisy environment, potentially with strong odors
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED•REQUIRED Customer Service Experience•
REQUIRED
Previous experience repairing and maintaining vehicles and construction equipment•
REQUIRED
Hourly Rate Range:
$22.00•28.00 Pay Based on
Experience Classification:
Full Time Non-Exempt Additional Job Details:
Day Shift Monday•Friday 7am-4:30pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch break Some overtime hours as needed Occasional weekend hours as required (on-call rotation)
