Stable schedule + overtime opportunities Build and Maintain the Equipment That Builds Florida Complete Development, Inc. is a well-established, family-oriented heavy civil construction company with more than 40 years of service in the community. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic and a dependable Mechanic Assistant to help keep our earthmoving and support equipment safe, reliable, and productive across multiple job sites.
Experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic Pay:
$30-$36/hr (Based on Experience)
What You'll Do:
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on bulldozers, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, compactors, dewatering pumps, cut saws, and other support equipment. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems using schematics, service manuals, and computerized testing equipment. Complete component replacements, small-engine rebuilds or replacements, and major and minor equipment repairs. Operate equipment as needed to test repairs and confirm proper performance. Maintain accurate service and repair records while working to minimize equipment downtime.
What You'll Bring:
At least 5 years of diesel and heavy civil equipment repair experience. Strong troubleshooting skills with engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals. Valid driver's license and safe driving record; CDL preferred. CAT, John Deere, Bomag, etc. experience.
Mechanic Assistant Pay:
Varies based on experience This role supports the lead mechanic with field and shop maintenance. It is a strong fit for someone who is mechanically inclined, safety-minded, dependable, and ready to grow in heavy equipment repair.
What You'll Do:
Travel to job sites and assist with inspections of trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment. Help clean, lubricate, service, and perform preventive maintenance on machines, engines, and mechanical equipment. Assist with diagnosing faults, adjusting equipment, replacing faulty parts, and completing major and minor repairs. Help test repaired machinery and keep accurate maintenance and repair records. Maintain an organized, safe work area and follow company safety procedures.
