Duties Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system adjustments. Troubleshoot electrical systems, automotive electrical components, transmissions, and HVAC systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, cutting, grinding, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Repair and maintain vehicle systems including air brakes, steering, shocks & struts, alignments, and diesel engines. Use heavy lifting techniques safely while handling large equipment or components during repairs or assembly. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with safety standards. Repair of heavy-duty diesel trucks and tractor-trailers Repair trailers Repair heavy equipment Repair diesel and gas light/medium-duty trucks, pickup trucks, vans, and cars, as needed. Repair small equipment including mowers, string trimmers, blowers, etc. Thorough and accurate diagnostic skill (electrical/mechanical) Perform PM services and DOT inspections Provide accurate repair order documentation If applicable, welding as needed On the Road Technician (including after hours, as needed) Must be available to work during all-weather events Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive heavy equipment mechanics background with a strong understanding of vehicle systems. Skilled in automotive diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems repair. Proficient with schematics reading and interpreting technical manuals for complex machinery such as excavators, cranes, tractors-trailers, and industrial equipment. Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques necessary for equipment repair. Knowledge of diesel mechanics including engine repair, transmissions, HVAC systems for trucks or heavy machinery. Ability to perform tire service, brake repair, suspension work (shocks & struts), wheel alignment and other vehicle maintenance tasks efficiently. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members or clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs. Capable of working independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and safety compliance.
