Doing:
Perform all repairs to Hilo equipment. Perform all major repairs requiring welding. Other duties as required. What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
Distribution Hilo Maintenance Department:
High School diploma. All Hilo Mechanics are required to have experience in welding and fabrication (training course - satisfactory completion) and must successfully demonstrate that skill prior to being awarded the job. A Hilo Master Mechanic must have at least six (6) years of experience, including at least two (2) years of experience with Powered (e.g. electric, liquid propane gas (l.p.g.)) material handling equipment (major mechanical, electrical diagnostics and repairs), and the minimum experience specified in the following categories. Formal schooling with certification may be counted to satisfy up to two (2) years of the total experience requirement and up to fifty percent (50%) of each individual category requirement. a. Powered (e.g. electric, liquid propane gas (l.p.g.)) material handling equipment (major mechanical, electrical diagnostics, and repairs): 1 year b. Hydraulic systems (major repairs): 1 year c. Welding and fabrication (training course - satisfactory completion): 1 year
