Overview We are seeking a motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, supporting various projects across construction, industrial, and agricultural sectors. Responsibilities Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, and hydraulic system inspections to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot electrical systems, engine issues, transmissions, air brakes, suspension components, and hydraulics using schematics and diagnostic tools. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency. Assist with equipment assembly, installation, and testing of new machinery or upgrades to existing assets. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Support heavy equipment operation when required by demonstrating proper handling techniques and safety procedures. Skills Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in dealership or industrial settings. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and automotive repair principles. Proficiency with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and schematics for various brands such as Caterpillar or similar manufacturers. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and the use of power tools for custom repairs or modifications. Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Experience servicing construction machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery. The ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance procedures.
