This is a hands-on, physically active position for someone who is willing to work hard, learn new skills, solve problems, and grow into a valuable member of our maintenance team. You will begin by learning basic shop operations and assisting experienced mechanics with truck and trailer repairs. Previous trucking, diesel, automotive, tire, or mechanical experience is preferred but not required. Candidates who have some of their own tools are encouraged to apply. The right employee may be offered a formal mechanic apprenticeship within the first year.
What You'll Do:
Mount and dismount tires and wheels Organize and manage tire and wheel inventory Perform general facility repairs and maintenance Power wash trucks, trailers, and other equipment Operate company vehicles and equipment as needed Assist mechanics with truck and trailer inspections and repairs Remove and install decals, lettering, and signage Learn preventative maintenance and repair procedures Train to become a truck and trailer mechanic Use a tablet to document and manage daily work assignments; training is provided Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED Reliable transportation Ability to perform physically demanding work Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds Dependable, organized, and willing to take direction, Strong attention to detail Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Desire to become a truck and trailer mechanic Ability to learn, retain, and apply training Comfort using tablets and other electronic devices Previous trucking, diesel, automotive, tire, or mechanical experience is helpful A valid CDL is preferred but not required

Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
