POSITION SUMMARY
The company is seeking an individual as a Field Mechanic for heavy equipment. This position will report to the Equipment Manager. This role is responsible to successfully, efficiently and profitably service and repair heavy equipment, trucks, tractors and trailers and their auxiliary equipment for the company. This position requires experience with diagnostic software and emissions standards relating to heavy equipment and semi-trucks. Other responsibilities include taking inventory of all parts and equipment, the proper processing of records of service on all equipment and the accurate account of all expenses per vehicle. The Field Mechanic may be assigned a company vehicle (with some specialized mechanics tools) as transportation to get to the various job sites. The Field Mechanic will be required to provide their own mechanic tools necessary to fulfill their duties. RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate within established budgets Responsible for submitting accurate accounting of time on time tickets and repair orders. Maintains parts and supplies inventory. Maintain shop housekeeping using no more than ten percent (10%) of time worked. Drives to different job sites to repair equipment/trucks as needed. Perform routine maintenance and annual inspection of equipment to include: oil change, lubrication, change hoses and belts, replace bulbs, replace worn parts, etc. Complete all repair orders in an accurate manner (all parts used have been accounted for) to ensure their proper processing through the accounting department Compliance with all Federal, State and Local health and safety laws, ordinances and policies Communicate with Equipment Manager, Shop Coordinator, Project Manager and/or drivers on all activities to keep them apprised of any problems or changes to the completion schedule. Dispose of all waste products in accordance with Federal, State and Local laws, rules and ordinances. Explain and enforce company policies and procedures. Other duties or tasks as assigned by Equipment Manager, Shop Coordinator, Operations Manager or Director of Executive Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent A valid driver's license with a clean driving record Valid CDL Class B license is preferred Authorized to work in the United States Experience in the heavy equipment/truck service and repair industry as a Shop Mechanic or lead Shop Mechanic servicing diesel and gas engines and their affiliated equipment and parts Understanding of excavating/landscape equipment capabilities and limitations Experience must include complete DOT type road ready inspections Must have knowledge of hydraulics and schematics Must have common knowledge of electrical systems, how they work, and how to repair problems Must be capable of performing welding and fabrication. Must be able to pass witnessed urine and hair drug test to qualify for employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CDL Class A license with a clean driving record

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Pay:
$38.00 - $48.00 per hour
