Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, feller bunchers, mulchers, and chippers, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, feller bunchers, mulchers, and chippers. Conduct electrical diagnostics on systems including electrical wiring, sensors, switches, and control modules to identify faults accurately. Maintain and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems for various construction machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function during repairs or modifications. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements promptly. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, brake repair, lubrication, and general inspections to prevent future breakdowns. Operate heavy equipment safely during testing procedures post-repair to confirm proper functioning before returning machinery to service. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, feller bunchers, mulchers, and chippers. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and schematics interpretation. Skilled in welding, fabrication (including soldering), use of power tools and hand tools for repairs or assembly work. Physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks safely while working in various environmental conditions.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
