Job Description

What You Can Expect Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on company trucks, forklifts, trailers, small engines, and other equipment to minimize downtime Diagnose, repair, and service trucks, forklifts, lawn mowers, small engines, and other equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and brake system issues Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area while ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained Complete maintenance and repair records accurately and in a timely manner Monitor and maintain parts inventory, identifying needed repairs and replacement parts Perform safety inspections and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently Assist with general facility and equipment maintenance as needed Communicate equipment repair needs, maintenance schedules, and safety concerns to management Train employees on the safe operation and basic care of equipment as needed Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturer guidelines Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing and maintaining trucks, forklifts, heavy equipment, small engines, or similar equipment preferred Valid Driver's License Working knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, welding, and general mechanical repair Experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse or yard equipment Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required; CDL preferred but not required Ability to read service manuals, repair diagrams, and maintenance schedules Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe repair practices Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance Ability to prioritize multiple repairs and adapt in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation's Best's values
