Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Crane Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction and industrial equipment, including cranes, excavators, forklifts, and other machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support our construction projects and operational needs. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on cranes, excavators, forklifts, tractors, and other heavy construction machinery. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Conduct repairs including engine overhauls, transmission servicing, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and assembly skills to repair or replace faulty components. Diagnose complex electrical systems such as HVAC controls, electrical diagnostics on heavy equipment, and electrical system troubleshooting. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Assist in the fabrication of parts or modifications to enhance equipment performance or safety features. Requirements Proven experience working with heavy construction machinery such as cranes, excavators, bulldozers, or similar equipment; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine diagnostics and repair, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and tire service. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams; ability to interpret technical manuals accurately. Hands-on experience with welding, fabrication techniques, power tools usage, and equipment assembly. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment such as cranes or forklift trucks when necessary. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting complex machinery issues efficiently. Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation or maintenance are advantageous; relevant licenses such as CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or specialized mechanic certifications are a plus. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients alike.
