Eligibility requirements for $2,500 Retention Bonus paid out in equal installments over 24 months every 6 months. Position Requirements 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic with a construction equipment, heavy equipment, equipment rental, or strong automotive diagnostics background. Intermediate experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, electrical systems and wiring, diesel engines, and Tier 4 emissions systems. Understanding electrical flow is preferred. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and efficiently repair equipment rather than simply replacing parts. Experience performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and completing repairs on heavy construction or rental equipment. Basic understanding of CAN bus systems, computer diagnostic software, wiring schematics, and manufacturer diagnostic procedures. Experience working on or willingness to learn equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers, excavators, loaders, compressors, and other construction or rental equipment. Must possess a basic mechanic's tool set required to perform repairs. Typical tools include metric and SAE hand tools, sockets, ratchets, torque wrench, multimeter, pry bars, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, and other common diagnostic and repair tools. Demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn new equipment, technologies, and repair techniques. Attention to detail when inspecting, servicing, testing, and repairing equipment to manufacturer specifications. Basic understanding of welding and fabrication methods is preferred. Safety oriented with a commitment to following Sunstate and industry safety standards while performing equipment repairs. Be willing and ready to learn. This position includes approximately six weeks of hands-on training with a trainer, followed by ongoing mentoring and development during the first one to two years as you continue building your diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
