Job Description

Job Responsibilities The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of stationery and mobile equipment throughout the facility. Their technical acumen will be key in trouble shooting, diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and enhancing the equipment's performance, contributing significantly to the facilities' success. The position requires the individual to work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment including testing, diagnosis, hydraulic, brakes, electrical systems and modules, drive trains and axle/hub repairs. Ability to work alone and in a team environment Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, test equipment Able to work safely and follow company rules and procedures. Good verbal and written communication skills Schematic Reading Proficiency Critical thinking Problem solving Operate CMMS system for work order management, scheduling, and inventory Assist in maintaining parts stocking levels to ensure proper parts are on hand. Requirements & Qualifications Associate's degree, technical degree in related field, or related experience 5+ years of technical field-related experience specific to heavy equipment and related certifications 3+ years training employees in mobile heavy equipment preferred Ability to work in an outdoor environment Must have and maintain a valid driver's license Computer literate: Microsoft Applications and CMMS software Strong manufacturing knowledge and understanding of the procurement/supply chain process Benefits 10 Paid Holidays 1 paid personal day Health, Dental, prescription drug and Vision Insurance 401k plan including up to a 3% employer match based on contribution selection Life insurance Sickness and Accident plan Voluntary Cross Training Bonus Weekly pay Koppers Inc. and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
