Purpose:
This position is responsible for the overall delivery, installation and repairs of fountain equipment, coolers, vending machines and other company equipment for the on premise sales and consumption by our customers.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Must follow all food safety regulations as set forth by the Food and Drug Administration and Parent Company Standards. Each employee must understand and abide by Good Manufacturing Practices for cleanliness and sanitation and understand and follow all HAACP guidelines as outlined for their position through individual job specific training. Must also comply with all OSHA training as required by the company, including Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Hot Work, Hearing Conservation, Forklift/High Lift, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, and others as needed. 2. The Vending Service Technician must report for work in clean clothing that is in good repair. No garments with buttons, rips, tears or fraying material. All employees must wash their hands before starting work, after each absence from work and/or anytime when hands become dirty (after every restroom visit and after lunch). No jewelry is allowed except a plain smooth wedding band. Medical necklaces must be inside the shirt. 3. Responsible for the delivery and installation of new and used vending machines, coolers, fountain equipment, cup dispensers, and their components. This may include making corrections for water, electricity and drains when necessary. All equipment must be tested for proper functioning before they leave the account. During installation of equipment a dolly is used to maneuver vending and fountain equipment into place. These machines may weigh up to 1200 pounds and sometimes have to be taken up steps, through doorways, etc. to get into place. 4. When equipment is installed at a new location, it may need to be filled with product before it can be given a final test for proper functioning. This may include delivering the product along with the machine, filling the vendor with bottles or cans, or setting up CO2, premix tanks, or bag-in-box fountain packages. A case of soft drinks can weigh between 21-45 pounds depending on the item, premix tanks weigh about 54 lbs, and BIB 50 lbs. The employee will need to lift, carry and place these items properly into the designated equipment. 5. Also responsible for the repair of said units on location using hand tools and power tools if required. May be necessary to bring some equipment back to the plant to repair or replace the unit. Must have working knowledge of all support equipment, and be able to identify parts in all machines. Must be able to test food service equipment for proper functioning of ice making, proper product dispensing, refrigeration, carbonation and evaporation systems, as well as, for proper functioning of all electrical and coin/bill changer systems used on vendors. 6. Must have good manual dexterity to use hand tools and automated tools when working on equipment, may need to squat, crawl under or over items, kneel, reach overhead, lift and carry items to place them properly and to work on specific areas. May be required to lie on back to work under equipment, or crawl under a counter, etc. 7. Must perform preventative maintenance on all equipment as needed and maintain accurate records on all equipment serviced. Refurbish damaged equipment to remove dents, clean and wax equipment, add new front panels or decals, and touch up paint when necessary. 8. Must also deliver equipment for special events such as festivals, grand openings, etc. when customers request our help. This may be delivering a special event trailer, setting it in place, setting up the equipment and product and making sure it is all in good working order before leaving the premises, including showing the customer how to use it. Here again the service person may have to lift and carry the product as mentioned above. 9. As part of the job, there may be invoices for the product or equipment that must be processed with the customer and reconciled with the office upon their return to the plant. They may be required to collect payments for the product they deliver and all of this money should be turned in at the office when they return. Sometimes there is money left in equipment that they pick up and this should also be turned in to the office. 10. As there are a very visible part of Pepsi-Cola while working for the company in customer accounts, this person must be pleasant and tactful when dealing with customers to ensure the company maintains good customer relations. 11. In an effort to provide the best service to our customers in a most cost effective way, other duties not listed here may be assigned from time to time depending upon company requirements and other work conditions as determined by management.. 12. All safety rules and regulations must be followed at all times including practicing proper lifting techniques, safe driving habits (wearing seat belt, no texting, no speeding) while always abiding by specific OSHA regulations for the area they are assigned.
